Meet our board of directors for 2012!
Sandy Allnock, President; Federal Way WA
Founder of this organization, Sandy is a graphic designer, volunteer coordinator, and papercrafter. She has worked at World Vision since 2001, and applies that experience to her efforts at fundraising, communications, social media marketing, and branding, web design, and administration. Operation Write Home combines her skills with her passion for support of our nation's heroes and her desire to see others use their creative gifts to bless others.
Leslie Frederick, Vice President, Clinton UT
Leslie found Operation Write Home via an internet craft site and recognized an opportunity to support service members and their families in a tangible way. She brings to the board skills in designing, speaking, teaching and writing from her fifteen-year career in the craft and hobby industry. Leslie enjoys all types of crafts, reading, doing crossword puzzles and hanging out with her grandchildren.

Monica Lockhart, Treasurer, Riverview FL
Mom to heroes, Monica's daughter Kristina is currently serving our country in the United States Marine Corps. Monica has worked for Medco Health Solutions for 17 years. She started cardmaking in 2007 and immediately fell in love with this hobby. She first found out about this project and participated in her first Blog Hop in May 2008. Operation Write Home is so dear to her heart for so many reasons. She has a soft spot for our Military and wants to give back to those who serve our country.
SuzAnn Summers, Secretary, Salt Lake City UT
SuzAnn is a librarian by education and is a Resource Coordinator for Intermountain Healthcare, handling web, copyright, budgeting and inventory of printed materials work. She has scrapbooked since 1989 and made cards for OWH since November of 2008. She has a real soft spot for the troops as two of her favorite uncles both served in VietNam and knows how much their written letters home meant to her parents. Both of them are gone now so she feels like part of their youthful vibrancy lives on in her cards. Making cards for OWH is very theraputic and brings joy 4 times over: a cardmaker as she makes them, the shipper as she packs them, the troops as they select a card, and the final loved one at home that receives the card.
Dee Nixon, Director, Brimley MI
Dee is a retired small business owner, former legal secretary, Executive Secretary, accountant, and transcriber for multiple court reporters. She enjoys making cards for the troops because she feels it's important they be able to keep in contact with their loved ones. She also enjoys scrapbooking, sewing, gardening, interior decorating and traveling; however, spending time with her grandchildren is one of her greatest joys so she has involved them in the cardmaking process, too. Dee also volunteers at a local nursing home, teaching the residents how to make cards and giving them the opportunity to write a Hero letter if they wish.
Dotti Harris, Director, Maple Valley, WA
Dotti has a passion for encouraging people to use their gifts and talents to serve others. She loves helping people find purpose in their lives and is inspired by the joy she sees in them when they contribute to something bigger than themselves. She is a retired CPA and Corporate Controller with over 25 years of business, administration, organization and project management experience. She started rubber stamping in 2000 and was teaching classes within a couple years! She has marketing and operational experience in the craft and hobby industry (retail, wholesale and manufacturing), and has edited and produced an instructional craft book for a stamp manufacturer in 2003. Dotti didn't "grow up" in the military, but comes from a family of vets and was even born on Salinas AFB! She is blessed by the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our heroes and their families by serving them through Operation Write Home. OWH's mission and Dotti's passion is a perfect match.
Samantha Estores, Director, Fort Huachuca, AZ
Samantha is an Army wife, veteran and sister to two Army brothers. She began stamping and card making for OWH in 2010 when she signed her husband up to be a recipient of cards during his last deployment. She has a passion for paper crafts and enjoys sharing her hobby with her two small children. OWH allows Samantha to support our Heroes through her creativity and give back to those who give their all.
Marlene Fuller, Director, Hillsboro, OR
Marlene and her husband Bob live in Hillsboro, Oregon and have been married 40 years. They have 2 married sons and three grand-children. She is semi-retired after over 30 years in outside sales and marketing, 13 of which were with Georgia Pacific selling fine paper. She is currently employed parttime with Cultural Homestay International as an Academic Coordinator responsible for finding qualified host families for high school students from other countries. Marlene is an avid crafter and began making cards for OWH in 2009. She has a heart for our deployed heroes and their families as does her husband Bob, a Viet Nam Veteran. She loves "all things paper", and currently hosts "Crop Circles" of 8-10 women in her home once a month to make greeting cards for heroes. She recently completed Heritage Scrapbooks spanning 6 generations for her sons and tries to stay current with scrapbooks for her grandchildren.
Dixie Cochran, Director, Charlotte, NC
Dixie lives in Charlotte, NC. She's a retired middle school teacher and more recently, a retired shipper for OWH. Dixie began stamping over 20 years ago, and her love of paper crafting has expanded over the years. Now that she has a little more time on her hands, she's volunteering at 2 local schools and hopes to get some traveling on the agenda.
